Saturday Kollege Kast: Don-K's three-game board.

Don-K, the Kulture Kast host, giving a thumbs-up with his Kulture Kast mug

Orange = Don-K's picksTeal = names and things to watch

Alright, Kulture Kast, pull up a chair. Don-K did the homework on three games, one for each window, so you don't get lost in a 40-game slate. Indiana wants to prove it belongs, Alabama is a big favorite with a habit of low-scoring games against good defenses, and Texas is a home favorite with a losing streak. Let's go.

That's the whole Saturday menu. Forty-plus games, and Don-K only wants three of them.

Prices from Outlier on Saturday morning. CBS had Texas at -3.5 and Indiana at -7, so check the number before you play. Lines move and books don't match.

Noon: Indiana at Michigan

Indiana is 6–1 and Michigan is 4–2. The Hoosiers are 4–1 in their last five against top-25 scoring defenses, and Don-K's read is that they win it through the air.

Josh Hoover has cleared 209.5 passing yards in 15 of his last 18 games, and he averages 269.3. He has also thrown two or more touchdowns in 7 of his last 9. Charlie Becker has cleared 77.5 receiving yards in 5 of his last 6, and he averages 105.

Now the catch. The under has hit in 8 of Michigan's last 9 at home, and Indiana is 0–5 against the spread in its last five against top-25 scoring defenses. That's why I'm on the passing yards and not the spread. A grind could cap both of them.

Don-K's take Hoover and Becker benefit most. If Indiana wins, it's through those two.

Afternoon: Texas A&M at Alabama

Alabama is 5–2, Texas A&M is 4–3, and the Tide are a 13.5-point favorite. But the under has hit in 7 of Alabama's last 7 games against top-25 scoring defenses, and Alabama is 1–4 against the spread in that spot.

Keelon Russell has cleared 25.5 rushing yards in 4 of his last 5 at home, and he averages 46.8. Alabama running back EJ Crowell is doubtful per the SEC availability report, which could mean extra work for Russell. That's Don-K's read, not a confirmed role change. Rueben Owens II has cleared 19.5 rushing yards in 14 of his last 16, and he averages 54.4. A&M receiver Kelshaun Johnson is out, so the run game matters.

The risk is garbage time. If Alabama builds a big lead early, Owens can lose carries and Russell can get pulled.

Don-K's take Russell and Owens on the ground, and a lean to the under.

Primetime: Ole Miss at Texas

Texas fell from No. 1 to No. 19 after two straight conference losses, the latest 27–24 to Florida, where Arch Manning threw for 173. Ole Miss is 5–1 and just beat Missouri 31–3. Texas is 0–5 against the spread in its last five as a favorite, so Don-K likes the Rebels at the number.

Trinidad Chambliss has cleared 247.5 passing yards in 15 of his last 19, and he averages 292.3. Kewan Lacy has scored in 13 of his last 14 and averages 1.5 touchdowns a game. He ran for 122 yards on 16 carries against Missouri. On the Texas side, Raleek Brown has cleared 39.5 rushing yards in 15 of his last 17, and he averages 80.5.

The risk is that Texas wakes up at home. Coach Sarkisian says Texas needs "a better version of Arch Manning," and Brown's rushing yards depend on Texas leading. Texas leads the all-time series 6–2, but Ole Miss won the last meeting in Austin, 44–23, in 2013.

Don-K's take Chambliss and Lacy carry Ole Miss. Brown keeps the Texas ground game alive.
