Alright, Kulture Kast, pull up a chair. It's the Hawks' home opener, both teams are 2-0, and both played last night. Houston is also without Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams, so somebody has to pick up those minutes and shots. Kulture Kast is an Atlanta shop, so I held myself to the number and not the logo.

Houston without VanVleet and Adams
DraftKings Network lists both as out, a health precaution. Reed Sheppard (knee) is questionable. The Rockets are 2-0 anyway, with a 128-110 win over Dallas and last night's 114-110 win in San Antonio, and per DraftKings Network they lead the league at 42.6% from three. They don't have to win a slow game tonight, but they also played last night, so I'm watching the legs.
Alperen Sengun is the one to watch, and he and Jalen Johnson are both set to play. He had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (38 combined) against Dallas and 29, 7 and 7 (43 combined) in San Antonio, playing 30 and 36 minutes. With VanVleet out, more of the offense runs through him, and Kevin Durant is averaging 25.0 points.
Atlanta's bench is doing the work
Per DraftKings Network, the Hawks lead the league at 130.0 points a game and allow 103.0. Friday's 128-81 win at Charlotte wasn't the whole story. They also beat Orlando 132-125 on opening night.
Three Atlanta names caught my eye. Aaron Wiggins had 19 combined points, rebounds and assists in 32 minutes against Orlando and 21 in 22 minutes at Charlotte. Jock Landale had 15 and 18 in about 18 minutes a night. Dyson Daniels had 27 combined against Orlando and 24 at Charlotte, and the steals show up in the fantasy scoring: about 42 and 52 fantasy points by PrizePicks' formula, by my math from the box scores. Mouhamed Gueye (foot) and Henri Veesaar (knee, out for the season) are out, so the rotation is set.
What the number says
Outlier's best moneylines are Rockets +101 (2.01) and Hawks -104 (1.96), which is about a coin flip. The Hawks are 2-0 and scoring 130, the Rockets are 2-0 and shooting 42.6% from three, and Houston is missing two starters on the second night of a back-to-back. I'm not claiming a side. I'm saying the plays I like are in the player props, where the minutes are clearer than the winner.

Best price on Outlier. Sengun has gone over 34.5 in both games this season, with 38 and 43, and he's playing 30-plus minutes with VanVleet out. Outlier's longer-run hit rate on this line is only about 50%, so this is a role bet. The risk: foul trouble or a back-to-back that trims his minutes.
Aaron Wiggins over 15.5 points + rebounds + assists at -115 (1.87) · Kast It: Like
Best price on Outlier. Wiggins has cleared 15.5 in both games this season, with 19 and 21 combined. Outlier's longer history on this line is weak, 3 of his last 20, so this is a bet on his current role. The risk: if his minutes shrink, he stays under.
Dyson Daniels over 32.5 fantasy score at -115 (1.87) · Kast It: Love
PrizePicks lists 32 at this price, so check the number. Daniels scored about 42 and 52 on that formula in his first two games, with steals doing a lot of the work. The risk: steals are streaky, and a low-minute night keeps him short.
